Advocate Classifieds (June 1994)

The oldest continuously published gay periodical still in existence within the United States, The Advocate widened its scope in the middle of the 1980s to include the homoerotic Advocate Men. In 1992, the publisher expanded again to offer Advocate Classifieds, a magazine released twice a month devoted primarily to classified ads for everything from casual connections to long-term relationships. In addition to its abundance of personals, the publication also featured interviews with adult entertainers and a single photo spread. In this June 1994 issue, photos of model Clint Benedict are accompanied by sexual advise on bisexuality, insider gossip on hazing in the adult industry, and the short story "The Men's Room" (about a contract negotiator's obsession with a mystery man who masturbates into the office urinals).
