The 1950s was a
watershed for the gay community. In 1950, the Los Angeles-based
Mattachine Society was founded, launching the formation of other groups
like ONE, Inc. and the Daughters of Bilitis, the emergence of
periodicals such as The Ladder and The Mattachine Review, and the development of the Institute of Homophile Studies. It is this type of forward progress the Studio 2000 film Tailspin attempts
to emulate. Set toward the end of the 1950s, the movie follows a set of
Eisenhower-era teenagers as they discover their budding sexuality
during a time where homosexuals were becoming more vocal and visible.
Featured in this October 2000 issue of Inches (which has been broken into three parts) is a photo spread of Jeff White. This second third (see the first third here) features photos of models Chris Dano, Drew Peters, and Victor Racek.
