Originally published by Dugent as a gentleman’s magazine featuring the female physique, Dude reemerged in the late 1990s as a gay-themed periodical that strove to compete with its bevy of competition by returning to the lifestyle articles dropped by its peers during the last part of the 1980s. Despite its efforts, though, Dude only lasted until July of 2003. Featured here is the premiere issue, which has been broken into two parts. In the first half, fitness advice from bodybuilder Todd Schafer and a travel guide to Costa Rica are paired with photos of models Evan and Josh.
