Originally published by Dugent as a gentleman’s magazine featuring the female physique, Dude reemerged in the late 1990s as a gay-themed periodical that strove to compete with its bevy of competition by returning to the lifestyle articles dropped by its peers during the last part of the 1980s. Despite its efforts, though, Dude only lasted until July of 2003. Featured here is the premiere issue, which has been broken into two parts. In the second half (see the first half here), the short story “Fraternity Brothers” (about two former fraternity members who rekindle their college lust for each other) and a showcase of Michael Fullana’s photography are paired with photos of models Armondo, Peter, Tony, and Troy.
