In 1988, Torso took over the operations of Stallion,
claiming the staff was pushing the magazine into unsavory territory
that repelled readers. In an effort to save the publication, Torso’s
staff began modeling it off of their own successful brand. This
September 1988 issue (which has been broken into two parts) features an
article explaining the acquisition and asking readers to give Stallion a
try. Showcased in the second half (see the first half here) are photospreads titled
“Bedroom Eyes,”
“Steamy,” and “Sun God” and an
advertisement for the movie Hot Latinos by Le Salon.
